Data provided by the MAIB has shown some very interesting figures
In 2003/04 year there were 239 claims against registered bikes. In that year there were 8797 registered bikes.
This equates to 1 claim per 36 bikes equalling 2.7%.
In 2006/07 year there were 297 claims against registered bikes. In that year there were 12,620 registered bikes.
This equates to 1 claim per 42 bikes equalling 2.4%.
In 2015/16 year there were 318 claims against registered bikes. In that year there were 17,529 registered bikes.
This equates to 1 claim per 55 bikes equalling 1.8%
As you will notice the percentage is dropping each year.
